Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 1 whole whole chicken about 4-5 pounds
Beer
  • 1 can lager or ale preferably a light beer
Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for heat

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F).
  2. Rinse the chicken under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the olive oil all over the chicken, then season generously with the spice mix.
  4. Open the beer can and drink or pour out half of the beer.
  5. Insert the beer can into the cavity of the chicken, ensuring it stands upright.
Grilling
  1. Place the chicken on the grill, using the beer can to support it.
  2. Close the grill lid and cook for about 1.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  3. Rotate the chicken occasionally for even cooking.
  4. Once done, carefully remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
