Ingredients

Burger Patties
  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 lean-to-fat ratio recommended
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Burger Toppings
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese optional
  • 4 buns burger buns toasted
  • 1 cup lettuce shredded
  • 1 tomato sliced
  • 1/2 cup pickles sliced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup to taste
  • 1/4 cup mustard to taste

Method

Prepare the Patties
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
Grill the Burgers
  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  3. If using cheese, add a slice to each patty during the last minute of cooking and close the grill lid to melt.
Assemble the Burgers
  1. Toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Place the cooked patties on the bottom half of each bun. Top with lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.
  3. Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
