Ingredients
  

Puff Pastry
  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
Filling
  • 6 tablespoons jam any flavor you like
Egg Wash
  • 1 egg egg for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon water for egg wash
Dusting
  • icing sugar for dusting

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400F (200C).
  2. Thaw the puff pastry as per the package instructions.
  3. Once thawed, cut into equal sized squares.
  4. Flip the square over so it looks like a diamond shape when facing you.
  5. Add the jam to the center of the square and fold over the sides.
  6. Fold the bottom so that the pastry looks like a letter.
  7. Cut out hearts with a mini heart cookie cutter and place the heart on top in the middle, covering the two sides that connect.
  8. Repeat until all letters are completed.
  9. Place them on a lined baking sheet with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. To make the egg wash, add one egg to a bowl with a touch of water and mix well.
  2. Brush each envelope with egg wash and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden and flaky.
  3. Dust with icing sugar and enjoy!
