Cake Preparation
- Make the boxed cake mix as directed on the back of the packet, adding the additional vegetable oil before mixing.

- Allow crumbled cake to cool completely.
Frosting Preparation
- In a medium bowl, combine butter, icing sugar, vanilla, and milk; mix on medium speed for 4 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add 3/4 of the frosting to the crumbled cake and mix until just combined. Adjust frosting as needed.
Forming Cake Pops
- Roll tablespoons of the mixture into round balls and place on a lined tray.
- Chill in the freezer for 10 minutes or fridge for 30 minutes, then roll again for smoothness.
- Freeze for an additional 30 minutes or refrigerate for 1 hour and 30 minutes until firm.
Coating Cake Pops
- Melt chocolate using a microwave or double boiler; pour into a cup.
- Dip the tip of each cake pop stick into the melted chocolate and insert into each cake ball about halfway.
- Dip each cake ball into the melted chocolate, swirl to coat, then tap to remove excess.
