- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
- In a separate bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract; mix until smooth.
- Stir in red food coloring until desired color is achieved.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture; mix until just combined.
- Drop dough onto prepared sheets, spacing them about two inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
- Allow to cool slightly before transferring to wire racks.
