  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon red gel food coloring

  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine salt
Chocolate Center
  • 6 white chocolate peanut butter hearts like Reese's

Method
 

Baking Process
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined.
  3. Add the egg yolk, vanilla extract, and red gel food coloring to the mixture, and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until a dough forms.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and roll in extra sugar.
  7. Place the cookie dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
  9. Remove from the oven and immediately press a white chocolate peanut butter heart into the center of each cookie.
  10. Allow to cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
