  • 1.5 Tablespoons sesame oil
  • 3 Tablespoons honey
  • 1 Tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger (finely grated)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 to 1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast (cut into 1-2 inch pieces)
  • 2 Tablespoons cornstarch or arrowroot flour
  • 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 6 cups broccoli florets (about 2 crowns)
  • 2 whole green onions (diced)

Method
 

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, sesame oil, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, sesame seeds, and 2 teaspoons of cornstarch to create the sauce.
  2. In a separate bowl, toss the chicken pieces with 2 tablespoons of cornstarch or arrowroot flour, 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the broccoli to the skillet and stir-fry with the chicken for about 3 minutes.
  6. Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and broccoli, and stir to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
  7. Garnish with diced green onions before serving.
