Ingredients
  

Base Ingredients
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest freshly grated
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice about 2-3 lemons
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Prepare the Mixture
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add the lemon zest, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined.
Chill the Mixture
  1. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until completely chilled.
Churn the Ice Cream
  1. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
Freeze
  1. Transfer the churned ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours to firm up.
