Ingredients
  

Tuna Steaks
  • 4 pieces tuna steaks about 6 ounces each
Marinade
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds toasted
  • 2 stalks green onions sliced

Method
 

Prepare the Marinade
  1. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
Marinate the Tuna
  1. Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate for 10-15 minutes.
Sear the Tuna
  1. Heat a skillet over high heat. Remove tuna from the marinade and sear each steak for 1-2 minutes on each side, until browned but still rare in the center.
Slice and Serve
  1. Remove the tuna from the skillet and let rest for a minute. Slice thinly against the grain and serve garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
